Special recognition and the Croatian Design Yearbook 21/22

After being awarded the Special Recognition for the CERU project, we have also received the Croatian Design Yearbook 21/22, which provides an overview of Croatian design over the past two years, and in which we are represented with a total of 12 projects

At this year’s biennial Croatian Design Exhibition 21/22, held at Lauba – a home for people and art, we were awarded a Special Recognition in the Packaging category for the CERU project.

The Croatian Design Exhibition is the central and most important professional design event in Croatia, bringing together the highest-quality design works created over a two-year period, divided into a total of eight professional and student categories.

The HDD Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to designer Boris Ljubičić, and this year’s Grand Prize of the Croatian Design Society was won by the Visitor Center Crna Roda (authors: Clinica studio, Roth and Čerina, Niko Mihaljević, Ivana Fabrio, Franka Tretinjak, Borna Demel, Novena, and Vanja Cuculić).

You can view all the award-winning works here.

The Croatian Design Yearbook, in its first segment of over 100 pages, includes texts and interviews with domestic and international experts in the field of design practice, criticism, and design theory, covering both current and methodological, social, and cultural aspects of the design practice.

The largest section of the publication provides a detailed overview of all selected works in eight categories. In addition to graphic and photographic reproductions, all works are accompanied by brief texts that explain the starting points, ideas, and project realization processes.

In the Visual Communications Design category, we are presented with the following projects: Prostoria catalog, ZDL leaflet, rebranding of the Association for Creative Social Work, NUTRIS Group identity system, and the rebranding of Kaštil Slanice.

In the Packaging Design category, we are featured with the following projects: TREF premium lager beer, Kupilek product line, Kadinela olive oil, Next Level Naturals product group, and CERU cook-at-home sets.

In the Comprehensive Project category, our projects include ASPECT dog food, and Fjori Fôra identity system, and the organic spice line.

The Yearbook also showcases the visual identity of our studio by Marko Koržinek, and the identity of Gradska Plinara Zagreb for which we won the first prize in the HDD public competition.

The final part of the publication also provides a detailed overview of all activities of the Croatian Design Society over the past two years, between two editions of the Croatian Design Overview. The Croatian Design Overview publications serve the purpose of contextualizing, critically examining, and archiving the current state of Croatian design.

The Yearbook can be browsed and purchased through the Croatian Design Society, and the complete exhibition can be viewed online here.
