PaKing Forum 2025: Shaping the Future of Sustainable Packaging

Industry experts, including our Creative and Art Director Izvorka Jurić, gathered to explore innovative solutions for a circular economy, sustainable design, and the future of packaging

The PaKing Forum 2025, which brought together over 100 experts, was held in Zagreb on Wednesday, March 26. Its first edition, focused on the important topic of “Sustainable Today for a Greener Tomorrow”, established itself as a key event for the packaging industry. The forum served as an important platform for exchanging knowledge, innovations, and best practices, aiming to enhance the sector’s sustainability, efficiency, and technological advancements.

Key topics discussed by speakers and panelists included waste management, smart solutions and innovations in the packaging lifecycle, practical implementation of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, the use of alternative materials and the challenges they bring, and design for a circular economy. The discussions also addressed how ESG principles are shaping the future of the packaging industry.

The conference brought together leading experts from packaging production and design, recycling, and legal regulation. Special attention was given to topics such as circular economy, eco-friendly materials, and the digitalization of packaging processes.

Our Creative and Art Director, Izvorka Jurić, participated in a panel titled “Design for a Circular Economy” alongside Kristina Kanižaj, Head of Research and Development at Bakrotisak and Rotoplast, Tanja Gašpar, Marketing Director at Vetropack Group, and Saša Fabris, Head of Sales and Customer Support, GPI.

The panel explored key questions such as:

  • How can we balance aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability in design?
  • What are the best examples of packaging design for the circular economy in practice?
  • What are the key strategies for reducing waste through smart and sustainable packaging design?
  • How can creative marketing strategies be applied to refillable packaging?
