Croatian Mint’s Dražen Petrović’s edition

On the occasion of Dražen Petrović’s 60th birth anniversary, the Croatian Mint has introduced a special series of gold and silver numismatic coins titled “Dražen Petrović.” The collection features various packaging options, each carefully designed to celebrate his legacy. Notably, the limited edition numismatic set is only 6 pieces, while the individual limited edition higher-value gold coin is only 60. The lower-value gold coin is presented in the Croatian Mint’s signature box, and the silver coin comes in standard packaging. Sculptor Nikola Vudrag designed the medal.

To enhance the presentation, the outer packaging design draws inspiration from a basketball bearing Dražen Petrović’s signature. Furthermore, the innovative round box design features a dual-opening drawer system. Inside, the coins rest on a packaging base graphically designed to resemble a basketball court. The front side of the coin bears the image of Dražen Petrović and is placed in Dražen’s position on the court – the most famous shooting guard in world basketball. The coin’s reverse side illustrates a successful basket, and the coin is positioned at the basket’s spots at the base of the packaging.

The Croatian Mint has ensured a premium feel for each edition. The limited editions are encased in eco-leather packaging, while the standard editions use paper or hard-laminated boxes.
